These terms apply to this website and to goods and services supplied by Water Pumps Projects ("we", "us", "our"), 12 Jupiter Rd, Crown Mines, Johannesburg. By using the website or accepting a quotation from us you agree to them. They do not limit any rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA) or other South African law.

1. Our services

We supply and install industrial and commercial pump supply, installation, booster stations, borehole pumps, sewage and sump pumps, and emergency pump repairs. Descriptions on the website are general. The scope, price and specifications for your job are those in our written quotation or invoice.

2. Enquiries and quotations

The website enquiry form only prepares a WhatsApp message to us. It is a request for information, not an order or a quotation, and it does not create a contract.

Quotations are valid for the period shown on them. Prices may change if the site inspection shows different conditions, if the scope changes, or if supplier prices change after the quotation expires. Photos and illustrations on the website are for illustration only.

3. Orders, payment and ownership

An order is accepted when you confirm the quotation in writing (including by WhatsApp or email) and any deposit stated in it is paid. Payment terms are those in the quotation or invoice.

Ownership of goods supplied stays with us until they are paid for in full. Risk passes to you on delivery or installation. Overdue accounts may attract interest and recovery costs as allowed by law.

4. Site access and installation

You must give us safe and timely access to the site, and make sure water and electricity are available where needed. You must tell us about any known hazards, existing faults or restrictions (for example in the plumbing, wiring or tanks). Delays caused by access or site conditions may change the timing and cost of the job.

5. Emergency and call-out work

Response and arrival times we give for emergency or breakdown call-outs are estimates only. They depend on your location, traffic, weather, load-shedding, parts availability and how many jobs are running at the time.

Emergency and after-hours call-outs may be charged at different rates from standard work. We will tell you the call-out basis before we dispatch where we can.

Temporary or bypass pumps supplied during a breakdown remain our property and must be returned in good condition.

6. Warranties

Goods carry the manufacturer's or supplier's warranty, and we will help you lodge a claim where reasonable. Any warranty on our workmanship is the one stated on your quotation or invoice.

Warranties do not cover damage from misuse, lack of maintenance, power surges, running dry, freezing, unauthorised repairs or work by others, or problems that existed before our work. Nothing here removes your rights to goods that are of good quality and fit for purpose under the CPA.

7. Cancellations and returns

Special-order and custom-built items, and work already started, may not be cancellable or returnable except as the CPA allows. Cancellation charges and restocking fees, where they apply, will be reasonable and will be disclosed in the quotation. Any right you have to cancel under the CPA (including the cooling-off right for certain direct-marketing transactions) is not affected.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, or loss of production caused by a fault, delay or interruption. This does not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, such as liability for our gross negligence, or your rights under the CPA.

You are responsible for the ongoing care of equipment as recommended by us, and for keeping our service recommendations and records.

9. Use of this website

The website, its text, logos and images belong to us or are used with permission. You may not copy or reuse them for commercial purposes without our written consent. We try to keep the information accurate, but it may be out of date or contain errors. Please confirm the details with us before you rely on them.

10. Privacy and cookies

How we handle personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Notice.

11. Complaints and disputes

Please raise any complaint with us first on 071 741 3666 and we will try to resolve it quickly. If we cannot, you may approach the National Consumer Commission, the relevant ombud or tribunal, or a South African court.

12. Governing law and changes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. We may update them from time to time. The version on the website on the date of your order applies to that order.

Water Pumps Projects ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect and use personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA). We are the "responsible party" for the information described here.

1. Information we collect

We collect only what we need to respond to you and do the work:

  • Contact details you give us: name, phone or WhatsApp number, and email or address where you provide them.
  • Job details you share with us: site or property address, type of property, water or pump requirements, photos, and anything you type into the enquiry form or a WhatsApp message.
  • Records of quotations, orders, invoices, payments and service history for customers.
  • Basic technical data (such as your IP address and browser type) that is visible to the services that deliver this website, as described in the Cookie Notice.

The website does not ask for ID numbers or bank card details. Please do not send these through the enquiry form.

2. How the enquiry form works

The enquiry form does not store what you type on our website. When you press send, it opens WhatsApp on your device with a pre-filled message to us. What you send is then handled by WhatsApp (Meta) under its own terms and privacy policy, and by us once we receive it.

3. Why we use your information

  • To reply to enquiries, prepare quotations and arrange site visits.
  • To supply, install, service and invoice goods and services, and to honour warranties.
  • To keep business, tax and accounting records as the law requires.
  • To contact you about your job or an existing service relationship. We will not send you marketing unless you have agreed to it or the law allows it, and you may opt out at any time.

We process your information because you asked us to (to take steps towards or perform a contract), because the law requires it, or because we have a legitimate interest in running our business without harming your privacy.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell your information. We share it only where needed, with technicians and staff working on your job, suppliers and manufacturers (for warranty claims), our accountants and payment providers, and authorities when the law requires. Service providers act on our instructions and must protect your information.

WhatsApp (Meta) and some website delivery services operate servers outside South Africa, so your information may be transferred across borders. We use these services only where they offer adequate protection.

5. How long we keep it

We keep information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, or as the law requires. Enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted or cleared from our active records within a reasonable period. Financial records are kept for the legally required period.

6. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If a breach affects your information, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.

7. Your rights

You may ask us to confirm whether we hold information about you, to see it, to correct or delete it, or to stop using it. You may object to processing, and withdraw consent where we rely on it. To do so, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity first.

8. Children

Our website and services are aimed at adults and businesses. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18 without a parent or guardian's consent.

9. Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, please contact us first. You may also complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa): inforegulator.org.za, complaints.IR@justice.gov.za.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The latest version and its date are always on this website.
